Maraheb Night!!

When I heard the news from a friend that Maraheb house (one more mandi) was opening in Karachi,and they arrange bloggers meetup so I was extremely excited. kyun k I LOVE MANDI Naaaa...

Maraheb Situated on Alamgir Road near United King Bakery, Most peaceful location easily reachable without traffic mess.

It’s on ground floor entrance Walking down the narrow of stairs in the restaurant, I was reminded of eateries in Islamabad that have the same concept of designing restaurants at the basement level.In karachi there are many restaurants have perfect interior and location as well. Since we were a large group of Bloggers they gave us a bigger space with traditional Saudi gao takia and a dastarkhwan set on the floor neat and clean with full chilled A.C. with pleasant environment.

Where to go:

Maraheb House, Alamgir road united king bakery. location was fully ideal you also find nearby rigos, and swensen’s Ice cream bar.

When to go:

The restaurant is open for lunch everyday from 12pm to 3pm and reopens for dinner at 7:30pm to 12am.

What to eat:

Since we were all famished, we decided to order an appetiser. They served us Rainbow Hummus First. Hummus is a levantine dip or spread made from cooked mashed chickpeas or other beans, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice salt and garlic. I tried 4 flavour in one time every flavour are different fully mashed, and cooked with perfect presentation

Before our Hummus arrived, the waiter served us LOADED BATATA.Have you ever tried Khatty Aloo I’m daaaam sure yes !!!but please go and taste loaded Batata at maraheb House beef/chicken topped with mozzarella cheese and dynamic sauce Spice on peak it looked very inviting.

For our main course, First they serving of SALTAH FASAH with MULUAWA BREAD  basically this dish slow cooked shredded beef prepared with a 7-spice mix and they served in pot (Matka) with Muluawa called Naan. In a while waiter came from one more dish ZORBIYAN If you like nuts with roasted meat so highly recommended Mutton and chicken roasted served in Matka. Raita and Lehsan ki chatni mandatory 😛

So Mandi most favorite food Chicken Madbhee. The chicken had a desi touch to it since they had basted it in spices, with a reddish tint because of the paprika. I nervously took my first bite since my spice tolerance isn’t very high. Thankfully it wasn’t too spicy for my taste buds! When my tummy was full so I can’t eat it perfectly..

Meetha Bhi tou khana tha if anyone tells you they’re full and can’t possibly digest more, they’re lying! I was thrilled to see they had my favourite Arabic speciality, Kunafa, on the menu. I couldn’t wait to devour the cheesy, syrup soaked with pista ice cream. The waiter served in tray with creamy cheese decorated and ice cream, and last sweet I tasted Red velvet cake So i think you all know that about red velvet cake.

So over all Its perfect I really enjoyed last night with my bloggers fellows. Thanks to maraheb restaurant inviting us and serving bestest dinner.

PAKISTAN SPORTS AWARDS🇵🇰

The first ever Pakistan Sports Awards were held in Karachi on Saturday evening to acknowledge the services and achievements of Pakistani athletes.
Squash legend Jahangir Khan was conferred with the life time achievement award. Honourable governor Sindh Mr Imran Ismail presented him the trophy.
Pakistan’s champion wrestler Mohammad Inam Butt was declared the sportsman of the year. Inam had won country’s only Gold medal in Commonwealth Games last year.
Nargis Hazara, the Asian Games Karate medalist, was announced as the sportswoman of the year.
Lahore Qalandars’ players development program was awarded as best CSR campaign of the year while PSL final in Karachi was judged as the best sports event of the year.
The award for the best sportsperson with special abilities went to Aamir Ashfaq of Pakistan’s Blind Cricket Team while Tariq Lutfi won the best coach’s award during the colourful and prestigious event which was attended by people from different walks of the life.

Sana Mir and Shahid Afridi were the winners or people’s choice award in women’s and men’s category respectively.
Renowned journalist from BBC URDU was announced as the best sports journalist of the year.

Zainab Abbas and Ramiz Raja were awarded best TV host and sports commentator respectively while Pakistan’s women cricket team won the team of the year award.
Sports icon awards were presented to Aisam ul Haq, Hussain Shah, Mohammad Yousuf, Naseem Hameed, Samiullah and Javed Miandad for their achievements in respective awards.

Commenting on awards, the founder and chairman of Pakistan Sports Awards Shoaib Malik said that it was everyone’s duty to acknowledge the services of our athletes and other unsung heroes who have made Pakistan proud.
“It was my dream to honour all these sportsmen who have brought laurels for Pakistan.” Malik had said.
Ameem ul Haq, the co-founder of the PSA said that it was the first event and it is here to stay. He also highlighted that more than 100,000 people voted for different athletes during the online voting window before the awards.
“There may things which we couldn’t do this year, we will do that in next year, making it even more bigger,” Haq said.

“The Sooper Junoon Concert Makes History as The Most Iconic Live Act Ever Seen in Pakistan!

[December 26th, 2018, Karachi]: On 25th December 2018, Karachiites  were treated to the most awaited concert of the year featuring Pakistan’s biggest Sufi rock band, Junoon. The event – which was organized by leading biscuit brand, Peek Freans Sooper to celebrate Pakistanis’ passion for their country on the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam as well as to commemorate nearly 30 years of Junoon’s music – was declared a roaring success as it not only kept the audience singing along to the nostalgic tunes loud and proud, but also proved to be an awe inducing showcase of live effects and animation.

Although there have been countless large-scale concerts throughout Pakistan’s history, a recent lull in the frequency of such events threatened to derail and completely submerge its live entertainment scene. The Sooper Junoon concert proved to be the impetus needed to jumpstart that trend once again. The event was a star-studded one with popular celebrities such as Wasim Akram, Zohaib Hassan along with an army of other celebrities and personalities in attendance. The much talked-about Ladies Only Pink Circle, which even Ali Azmat acknowledged on-stage as a first, was the crowning glory of the event while other enclosures were packed with people of all ages, all of whom had come together to see Junoon’s reunion after a long halt of 13 years.

With a massive stage set for the Sufi-Rock Kings, the host for the evening, Faizan Haque, kick-started the event with Pakistan’s top DJ, Faisal Baig, whose Classic Rock music set helped build the mood for what was to come later. Following him were four brilliant opening acts, namely Lyari Underground, Khumaariyan, Tamasha and Sounds of Kolachi, every band making its own mark with the audience and leaving them yearning for more.

With the appearance of each live act, the anticipation of the crowd for Junoon’s first live act in years grew, eventually getting to a point where it seemed like they just couldn’t take any more. However, once Junoon took to the stage, the evening took a turn from absolutely amazing to dream-like spectacular. With an incredible light show that was accompanied by L.E.D graphics and animations playing on three humongous screens which in their entirety spanned more than 200 feet in length, the audience was completely swept away by the entry. ” Wow! Look at all these people!” was the band’s first words on stage after 13 years when they saw the more than 10,000 in attendance.

Junoon began with a tribute to the Father of the Nation before going on to perform iconic hits such as ‘Khudi’, ‘Sayoonee’, ‘Saaien’ and countless others. The band then came full circle with a beautiful tribute to Junaid Jamshed in the form of a heartwarming performance of ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’, thereby filling the atmosphere with great emotion and nostalgia.

•Perhaps the most memorable moment of the concert was when Salman and Ali veered away from the script to sit down on the stairs of the stage and do an impromptu performance of the legendary hit, ‘Wish You Were Here’; their way of paying tribute to global icons, Pink Floyd. From there they entered their classic hit ‘Chalay, Chalay Thhay Saath Saath’. To everyone’s surprise, Ali didn’t sing the last line of the song, a rare display of emotion by the rock star, which pushed many in the audience to tears again. He turned away from the audience and said, “They ask that ‘oooh Ali what does this reunion mean to you…and I go, meh it’s the usual’, but – this reunion…”, and just left it at that, simultaneously echoing the feelings of everyone in attendance.

Even with such a fantastic presentation of raw sentiment and emotion through the power of music and lyric, nothing could prepare the massive crowd for what was next in store. For the band’s last performance of the evening, Jazba Junoon, the audience was treated to what was, arguably, the longest and most brilliant firework show in recent history. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem with everyone gasping and cheering in awe as massive green fireworks appeared, just as they played the last note. The coincidence of the timing escaped no one. Maybe it was all planned to perfection. Goosebumps.

It is no doubt that Peek Freans has, once again, exceeded expectations with the Sooper Junoon Concert and given the people of Karachi an evening where they were left both dazzled and awed by legends and newcomers alike. One hopes that EBM – the makers of Peek Freans – are able to come up with even greater initiatives for the future and thus make good on their promise of promoting all that is great about Pakistan.

CLASSIC FOOTBALL LEAGUE

IInaugural CLASSIC FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2018 was announced in PFF press conference at Football House on Thursday.

PFF and Strawberry Sports Management are jointly brining city/
franchise based league in which top talent from Pakistan and
international footballers will be in action. Two weeks event is to be
scheduled in last quarter of this year. The inaugural season of the
League is likely to be played in Karachi/Lahore during the last
quarter of 2018. It was shared that top national players have already
been lined up for the League, while PFF is reaching out to players
abroad. The event will see minimum 5 teams named after different
regions of Pakistan including 4 provinces will take part.

PFF expressed its complete support for the League and stressed that it
shall set the direction of football in the country towards talent
development and exposure. Strawberry Sports Management expressed the
desire to hold variety of pre event activations for the League to
ensure organic support and ownership for the League.

 

Shahid Khokhar, Head League Development & Media PFF and Director of
the Classic Football League dubbed the CFL as vital for the promotion
of football in Pakistan “Classic Football League to Play Vital Role in
Promotion of Football” he said

He underscored the importance of sport in building healthy societies
and said “Football is the most popular sport in the world. but
unfortunately, in Pakistan, football couldn’t attain the heights it
could have. There are several reasons for this, including the fact
that Pakistan was unable to adopt the latest measures in the sport”
Shahid said. He expressed delight in the fact that the public is
growing interest in the sport, this is evidenced by the fact that the
number of football fans is on the rise. Talking about CFL, Shahid
praised the model and whole concept, “the franchise based model of the
Classic Football League is popular globally. It allows the
stakeholders to participate in the development of the sport. This also
gives the corporate sector a prominent role” he said. He also assured
full support for the success of the League.

 

Shehzad Anwer, Technical Director of PFF, also the chairman CFL
selection committee, appreciated the gesture of Strawberry Sports
Management to promote football. He also lauded Haider Ali Daud Khan,
Chairman of CFL, for his efforts in development of the sport. “PFF has
formed a selection committee based on highly qualified coaches have
been established to select players for the Diamond and Gold and
Emerging Categories”.

 

Sajjad Mehmood, Director Competition PFF has expressed the
competitiveness of the CFL as the most prominent feature of the event.
“We are having serious deliberations on the timing of CFL as we need
to adjust it with Pakistan Premier League”, but anyways it will be
staged somewhere towards the end of the year 2018” Sajjad Mehmood
revealed about the final dates and timing of the CFL. “CFL will
supplement the PPL and B-Division League” Sajjad added.

 

Haider Ali Daud Khan Chairman Classic Football League expressed his
gratitude to the Print and Electronic Media fraternity in attendance
and shed light on the various aspects of the league. He had the
opinion that the league will help taking down barriers that have
hindered football in Pakistan to some extent. Haider also elaborated
the details of CFL, “franchise-based model of CFL will prove to be a
boon not only for the players and officials but also for the fans and
various organizations attached to the sport, CFL will play a vital
role in development of Football” Haider said . In the first year,
there will be minimum 5 teams that will represent the four provinces
of the country. For the purpose of the league, the players have been
divided into three categories. The first of them is the Platinum
category, this includes players who have represented Pakistan at an
international level. Diamond category includes players who have
showcased their skills at national level. Third & last, Emerging Gold
category will include players who have yet to prove their mettle.

 

The corporate sector, team owners and sponsors have several beneficial
opportunities in CFL. The league will be managed in conjunction with
modern practices” Haider said concluding his remarks.
